Dr Jaclyn Moss (MBBS, FRACGP)
Jaclyn grew up in Regional NSW and has degrees from the University of Newcastle and the University of Sydney. She has practiced as a General Practitioner in Canberra since 2007. She has worked at Hughes Family Practice since 2016. Along with Dr Michelle Hart and Dr Ying Chow she became a practice principal at Hughes Family Practice in 2024.
Jaclyn has an interest in providing holistic and high quality medical care for all ages. She has a special interest in women’s health including menopause, menstrual disorders, contraception and breast health. She has previously worked at BreastScreen ACT as clinical coordinator. She is a member of the Australasian Menopause Society and has completed the FPAA Certificate Course in Reproductive & Sexual Health. She can provide contraceptive device insertion including Implanon and Intrauterine Devices (IUD’s).
She is also interested in helping her patients make lifestyle changes to maintain good physical and mental health and prevent chronic disease.
Jaclyn is interested in medical education, teaching medical students at ANU and supervising and examining GP Registrars.

Dr Michelle Hart
Dr Michelle Hart (MBBS, FRACGP, BScMed, DCH) completed her medical training in Queensland and has worked in general practice in NSW, QLD and the ACT. She has an interest in children, families and women’s health, along with all aspects of general medicine.

Dr Ying Chow
Dr Ying Chow (MBBS) has been at the practice since 2014. A proud local who went to school and University in Canberra Dr Chow enjoys practising family medicine.

Dr Gwenda Griffiths
Dr Gwenda Griffiths was born in the UK and completed high school in Canberra. Gwenda’s first degree from the university of Sydney was a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. While working at Royal North Shore Hospital and in the UK, she discovered the challenge and complexity of intensive care and cardio thoracic patients. Gwenda returned to the University of Sydney to complete a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, graduating with Honours, the University Medal and a 1 week old baby. Gwenda is passionate about all aspects of medicine – particularly skin cancer, women’s health, sexual health, endocrinology and musculoskeletal medicine. Gwenda also undertakes surgical assisting at various hospitals in Canberra, is a VMO for NSW Health and a medical co ordinator for Breastscreen NSW ( Queanbeyan). When not at work, Gwenda loves exercising, her garden, her cats, her 3 girls and coffee!

Dr Kate McCallum
Dr Kate McCallum (MBBS, DCH, DRACOG) has been a GP for over 30 years. She has a special interest in Women’s, Children and Mental Health. She also works as a Child Health Medical Officer in the Child Health Targeted Support Services at Canberra Hospital.

Dr Michelle Barrett
Dr Michelle Barrett, Practice Principal (BMBS, FRACGP, DRANZCOG) graduated from Flinders University in Adelaide. She has been a GP in Canberra for over 20 years. She has special interests in Family Medicine, Obstetrics and Medical Education. She is Senior Lecturer in Clinical Studies at the ANU Medical School.

Dr Matthew Lewis
Dr Matthew Lewis (BSc (Hons) MBBS (Hons) FRACGP) completed his graduate medicine at the University of Western Australia. He has trained and worked in a number of areas of WA, NSW and ACT, as well as overseas. Dr Lewis is a generalist who enjoys caring for families. He continues to be engaged in a variety of teaching, research and advanced study to complement and ensure best clinical practice.

Dr Patrick O’Callaghan
Dr O’Callaghan has been a GP for over 35 years. He graduated from University College Cork in Ireland and worked as a GP in Ireland for a few years before coming to Australia. He has a broad range of hospital experience in casualty,general medicine and psychiatry.
He has been a clinical tutor at the ANU Medical school for over 10 years and the continuous exposure to future young doctors there helps him keep up to date and enthusiastic in his GP role at Hughes.
He has worked as a GP in Canberra for over 30 years. He has a holistic approach to medical care and in particular loves developing relationships with families of the area.
When not working his hobbies are woodworking,fishing and golf.

Dr Matthew Smith
Dr Matthew Smith grew up in Brisbane but has been a proud Canberran for over 20 years. Matt trained in acute medicine for several years in Canberra and has worked in both Fiji and Kenya. He will be undertaking further academic endeavours with ANU Academic Unit and looks forward to joining the team at Hughes Family Practice.

Dr Katherine Lovat
Dr Katherine Lovat (BSc MBBS, FRACGP, DCH) completed her medical degree at UNSW in 2006. She then trained for several years in General Medicine and Oncology. Katherine enjoys many areas of General Practice including women’s, children’s and mental health.

Dr Seren Ovington
Dr Seren Ovington FRACGP The practice welcomes Seren back from her time in Orange. Seren was awarded the 2021 GP Synergy GP Registrar of the Year for Murrumbidgee and ACT. She works part time.

Dr David Donnelly
Dr David Donnelly MBBS BSc (Med Hon) FACCRM MPH&TM Dr Donnelly has an interest in travel medicine and works part time.
