Hughes Family Practice is a local GP owned practice operating in Hughes for over fifty years. Dr Michelle Barrett and Dr Patrick O’Callaghan are our co-principals.

Whilst retaining the original building, the practice has undergone various extensive renovations through recent years.   The practice offers a modern suite of facilities that meet the demands of everyday practice and RACGP Accreditation standards. The practice has always prided itself in being a true family practice and as such is proud to count many three generation families amongst our current patients.

For nearly 20 years the practice has been involved in the teaching and support of students and GP registrars in association with the ANU Medical School and other medical training institutions.

Currently, with ten GP’s and three registered nurses, the practice provides a wide range of services to patients of all ages.  Our full range of services can be accessed here.

Whilst the practice is a private billing practice, we offer a flexible fee schedule and try to cater for all patients including bulk billing of children 5 years and under.  In line with Government legislation telehealth consultations are available where clinically appropriate.
